Please also remember when ordering t-shirts that some children do not make champs cuts until summer awards. The tshirt order for individual teams had already been placed before this. Perhaps the deadline could be extended for next year? While there were extras ordered, if you do not get there first thing to try and get one, you are out of luck. We had a few kids who did not get a shirt this year.

Hi there...I am not sure who is in charge of updating the site, but for next year it would be nice if the site was updated a little more frequently. Meet scores are not even posted for the July 13th meet as well as individual event results from Champs. I would like to be able to view the double/triple winners as well.

receipts for championship meet fees

Receipts will be provided for each team's fees paid in connection with the championship meet (entries, program ads/sponsors, tee shirts), and may be collected during the afternoon session of the meet. Those receipts not collected in person will be placed with each team's awards and ribbons at the end of the afternoon session.

Please forward these receipts to your team's treasurer.

High Performance Swim Camp

August 17-22, 2009

Hidenwood Pool

Mark Van Deren and his staff will conduct a 6-day camp for swimmers ages 9 to 14 at Hidenwood Pool. Mark has 10 years of high level coaching experience. He has developed many state champions, state record holders, and nationally ranked Age Group swimmers. Josh Fulton, a former NCAA All-American and Olympic Trials participant, will be a special guest coach. The HPSC staff is committed to providing quality technique instruction and training for all swimmers.

Daily Schedule:

8:00am Check-in

8:15am Dryland Training

8:45am Swimming technique focus

9:15am Lecture, snack, break

9:45am Swimming speed & conditioning focus

10:30am Wrap-up

10:45am Swimmer pick-up

Space is limited to the first 22 registered swimmers. Cost for the camp is $100, which includes a camp t-shirt. Registration forms can be downloaded from the Swim Camp link at http://www.hidenwoodpool.com. Questions can be directed to Mark Van Deren at 675-4364 or markvanderen@yahoo.com.

Please make your meet director and coach aware that dual meet forms will be distributed at the end of the mandatory coaches and meet directors' meeting Saturday, June 6 at Kingswood. The meeting begins at 9:00 am.

These supplies include:

time cards
USA Swimming rule books
disqualification slips
sweep judge forms
score sheet tablets
exhibition swim line-up tablets

All Swimmers - The VPSU Website needs a VPSU logo on the Home Page. Since we don't have one, how about designing one. Please submit your entries to webmaster@vpsu.com. Please send your entries in as soon as possible but no later than July 7, 2008. Electronic entries would be best, but we'll take them in any format. Can't promise a prize, but I'll work on the Board and try to get them to spring for one!

VPSU Champs Meet Booklet Ad Sales

Just a reminder to everyone to get started on Ad Sales for the Champs Meet Booklet. Please let me know ASAP if you sell any tshirt sponsorships so we can reserve the space. They are selling fast!

The drop off for Williamsburg area ad reps will be The Runner's Source, 151 Monticello Ave in the Williamsburg Shopping Center (Steinmart's) between the hours of 9:30AM and 6PM. Please drop off all your team ad contracts, check, etc. in one package marked "Laura - VPSU ADS"

Meet Pictures on VPSU Website

During the swimming season, if you have some pictures taken at meets that you would like to see posted to the website, please send them to me, webmaster@vpsu.com. I can't promise that every picture will make it, but we'll try to get as many posted as possible. Also, please don't send me a complete photo album. Keep it to 1 or 2 pictures until we see how this is going to work.
